The family consists of five robot variants - each of them suitable for a specific application. The 'KR 800', for example, is suitable for handling payloads of up to 800 kg. The two KR 480 variants have reach ranges of up to 3,700 mm. In addition, the maximum permissible mass moment of inertia of the KR 640 and KR 560 can be further increased with a high inertia variant for particularly large grippers. According to Kuka, the robots' double swing arm arrangement ensures high rigidity and accuracy with a reduced dead weight. The robot components are easily accessible and therefore easy to maintain and repair. Only three different maintenance measures are required: oil change, visual inspection and lubrication of the cable set and the bearings on the counterbalance.
