First robot trade fair 'R-18' / Odense
Focus on robotics solutions for SMEs
The Danish robotics and development industry will come together in September 2018 for the first robotics trade fair 'R-18' in Odense (Denmark). The trade fair is primarily aimed at small and medium-sized companies with their robotics solutions.
Around 50 Danish and international companies will be showcasing their developments and innovations from the world of collaborative robots, grippers and sensors, for example for cameras and distance measurement, over three days (from September 11 to 13, 2018) at the Odense Congress Center in Odense, Denmark. Companies such as the pioneer of cobots - Universal Robots - and companies such as OnRobots and Purple Robotics will be represented from the Odense think tank. Universal Robots will be presenting its newly developed 'E-series' platform and the 'Universal Robots+' ecosystem in Northern Europe for the first time. Mobile Industrial Robots (MIR) will be there with its mobile transport robots, as will Blue Ocean Robotics, which develops customized solutions in partnerships with companies. The robotics cluster 'Odense Robotics', which represents more than 120 robotics companies as well as universities and research units from the region, will also be at the trade fair. The cluster promotes close cooperation and continuous development between the companies. A number of European projects in which the Technical University of Munich is involved will also be attending the premiere in Odense and participating with their own presentation.
Target group of the robotics trade fair 'R-18'
"It is mainly small and medium-sized companies that are interested in robot solutions from Denmark," says Sören Therkelsen, project manager of 'R-18'. "We want to show them what opportunities there are for them to use robots in their work processes. This could be a small metalworking company or a small company in the manufacturing industry," says Therkelsen. In the future, however, the topic of robots and automation will not only concern companies within the sectors in which robots have already found their way into. "In the future, almost all industries will certainly automate processes in some form in order to remain competitive. And that applies to the healthcare sector as well as waterworks and the media," says Therkelsen.
Specialist conference with many practical examples
The three-day conference has a different theme each day and focuses on topics such as the development of new business opportunities through the use of robots and digitalization, the step from start-up to scale-up and the recruitment of specialists for the industry. Many practical examples will be presented. As part of the robot fair 'R-18', the drone network 'UAS Danmark' will also meet for its annual drone fair and conference at the 'Odense Congress Center'. Parallel to the robot fair, the electronics fair 'E-18' will take place on the grounds of the Congress Center with around 140 expected exhibitors. Admission to both fairs is free.
