ABB
Condition-based maintenance service for robots
ABB's Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM) service enables robot users to create a preventive maintenance plan for individual robots or robot fleets based on real-time operating data.
'CBM' accesses real-time data during robot operation to identify potential problems that could affect performance. This includes data on the utilization, speed, acceleration and wear of the gearbox. The variables are compared with those of other robots in ABB's global database to calculate the probability and timeframe of a potential fault or failure. The tool - designed for customers with large robot fleets - then recommends whether remedial action is required, such as repair or replacement of the affected parts. By identifying which parts are likely to fail and when, spare parts can be procured in good time without having to maintain a large inventory. The service tool provides customers with all the information they need to create a predictive maintenance plan to keep their robots in good working order and maximize their performance. The tool creates an evaluation for each robot in order to quickly assess the preventive measures to be taken. This includes the serial number, an overview table, the data analysis, individual maintenance recommendations and the system evaluation.
