Maintain and repair machines via TeamViewer
TeamViewer is already established for the remote support of computers. Together with the telecommunications provider Vodafone, TeamViewer now also wants to make remote maintenance and repair of machines possible.
With the help of the solution, machines that are networked in the Internet of Things automatically report as soon as they are defective - "together with TeamViewer, we make remote repairs possible. This saves time and money," says Jochen Busch, Head of IoT Central Europe at Vodafone. The best possible experts can "talk" to the machines from hundreds of kilometers away via a special interface and control them from all production locations - as if they were standing right in front of them. They access them, analyze possible software errors in an emergency and can rectify them by installing updates. Vodafone's global IoT platform enables communication with the machines to work across national borders. According to Busch, the IoT SIM card should ensure a secure network connection even if the company's own network is temporarily affected by a fault.
According to Raffi Kassarjian, General Manager Emerging Products Group at TeamViewer, the partnership between Vodafone and TeamViewer aims to make machines and systems fit for the Internet of Things with a calculable investment - "without high technical hurdles and endless project runtimes".
