Hololens

Lukas Dehling,

In interaction with robotics

Together with Microsoft, Iconics is showcasing augmented reality solutions at the Hannover Messe 2017 - implemented with Hololens glasses. Iconics has developed a client for its Genesis 64 visualization software to tap into the possibilities of the data glasses.

In addition, tools such as GraphWorX or AlarmWorX can provide information and real-time data from the machines directly in the Hololens environment. With AlarmWorX, historical and/or real-time alarms can be projected as 2D holograms, for example on walls. In GraphWorX, 3D representations of complete production plants are created, providing a 360° view of plants. At the trade fair, Iconics will be presenting a robot that interacts with the Hololens data glasses in collaboration with Comau. This allows a holographic image of the robot to be controlled using gestures and speech. In addition, a live demonstration will show the company's automation software in use with OPC UA in an Azure cloud application. The 'IoTWorX' software tool enables a direct connection to the Azure Cloud for a wide range of IoT gateway devices from Iconics Alliance partners. Once installed on the hardware, communication is enabled via Microsoft'sAzure IoT Hub or other cloud-based services via publish/subscribe. The hub then acts as a kind of messenger between the hardware gateway and the connected subscribers. The Iconics gateway suite thus becomes an edge-to-cloud application based on Microsoft operating systems.
