Pepperl+Fuchs has presented various developments for the "VisuNet GXP" portfolio: New to the "GXP" family, for example, is a PC computer unit with an Intel quad-core processor and an open Windows operating system. This enables the user to install individual software packages such as SCADA applications in order to visualize and control applications in hazardous areas. Serial interface options such as RS232, RS485 or Ethernet also enable direct access to the PLC or other peripheral devices from the hazardous area. Thanks to fiber optics, significantly greater distances can be bridged and even remote parts of a system can be networked. In addition to this PC unit, another display unit is a new addition to the "GXP" portfolio: In addition to the 21.5-inch (54.6 cm) screen diagonal, there is also a more compact 19-inch (48.3 cm) version. Depending on the industry, customer wishes and requirements, a new generation of smart, thin-client-based HMIs is also used in addition to these PC-based HMI devices. These "VisuNet Remote Monitors" are available with the "RM Shell 5" firmware, which offers a modern Windows 10 IoT operating system, among other things.
