Dassault Systèmes has announced new climate targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). The company is committed to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across its entire value chain by 2050.

In the short term, absolute Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions are to be reduced by 65% by 2035 compared to the base year of 2024. In addition, the company aims to reduce Scope 3 emissions per euro of value added, as well as emissions resulting from the use of sold products, by 66.33% per euro of value added by 2035.

Previous Goals Achieved Ahead of Schedule

According to the company, the SBTi targets previously set for 2027 were already achieved in 2025. Consequently, Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions fell by 35%, while emissions from business travel and employee commuting (Scope 3) were reduced by 20%.

Furthermore, according to Dassault Systèmes, suppliers that account for more than 50% of the emissions from purchased goods, services, and capital assets now have their own science-based climate targets.

Focus on the Value Chain

According to the company, measures that have contributed to reducing emissions include ISO 50001-certified energy management systems at locations accounting for 91.4% of the workforce, as well as a 93.9% share of green electricity by 2025. In addition, sustainable procurement processes were further expanded.

Virtual Twins as Part of the Strategy

According to the company, in the next phase of its climate strategy, Dassault Systèmes aims to drive the decarbonization of the value chain and help companies analyze and reduce their climate impact using digital twins.

The new targets are based on the SBTi Corporate Net-Zero Framework. The company had already announced its first net-zero target back in 2021.
