Simulation of Physical Interactions
Keysight Technologies has introduced "Keysight Multiphysics," a design and verification solution for electronics development. The software is designed to simulate physical interactions at an early stage, thereby identifying potential failures before a prototype is built.
This is due to the increasing complexity of modern electronics, in which electrical, thermal, mechanical, and optical components are closely interlinked. According to the company, interactions between these areas can lead to defects that are often not detected until after a product has been completed.
First Application for Structural Analysis
The first version of the software focuses on structural analysis. It includes simulations for drop, impact, and vibration tests and is designed to enable these tests during the development phase, before physical prototypes are built.
According to Keysight, the software reduces the time required for such simulation processes from several weeks to just a few hours. Preconfigured application templates are also designed to simplify the setup of the simulation and enable its use even without specialized knowledge of computer-aided engineering (CAE).

Support for Standards
According to the company, the software includes a materials database for modern electronic materials and supports compliance workflows for standards such as MIL-STD, IEC, and JEDEC in the area of shock, drop, and vibration testing.
Potential applications include reducing the number of physical prototypes, identifying reliability issues early on, and shortening development and approval processes.
