First intrinsically safe smartwatch
Ecom is now introducing a smartwatch for the Ex area in Zone 2/22 and Div. 2. The watch is based on the Samsung Galaxy Watch and can be combined with the Ecom Smartphone Smart-Ex 02 and Featurephone Ex-Handy 10.
The Ecom Smart-Ex Watch 01 offers mobile workers hands-free navigation via advanced voice control; wrist gestures simplify operation. A rotating bezel enables intuitive, quick and easy scrolling through apps and commands, even when wearing gloves. Thanks to integrated GPS, Glonass and motion sensors, the smart watch protects the wearer from the ever-present dangers of an industrial environment. Sensors can be used to monitor vital signs for critical conditions. With real-time localization, the location can be accessed quickly at any time and assistance measures can be initiated quickly in an emergency.
In addition to the Ex certification, the Smart-Ex Watch 01 is tested in accordance with the American military standard (MIL-STD-810G) and can withstand drops, vibrations and shocks. The 3D dial, which can also be read in direct sunlight, is protected by scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass SR+. The smartwatch is also sealed dustproof, water-resistant up to 50 meters according to the ISO standard and works at temperature extremes from -15 °C to +50 °C.
The battery offers a runtime of up to five days and up to 28.5 hours when using GPS. For wireless transmission of voice, data and messaging services, the LTE version of the Smart-Ex Watch 01 is compatible with almost all GSM and CDMA networks and is therefore equipped for use in various countries.
