Schuler cooperates with Japanese system provider TMC

Rapid growth is predicted for aluminum beverage bottles: Against this background, the press manufacturer Schuler has entered into a cooperation with the Japanese specialist for so-called DWI bottle cans, TMC.

Leading bottlers are increasingly turning to DWI bottle cans as premium packaging that allows a great deal of freedom in design. As they are produced using the drawing and wall ironing (DWI) process, they also require significantly less material than conventional extruded bottles. Experts even assume that more of these aluminum bottles will be produced per year than aerosol cans in the future.

The TMC-Necker is available with 40 to 56 forming stations. Depending on this, the maximum diameter of the bottles is 59 or 66 millimetres, with a maximum bottle length of up to 245 millimetres.

According to Schuler, TMC is the market leader in systems for the production of aluminum bottles and has developed a machine that forms the bottle neck ("bottle necker") in addition to the sophisticated tool technology. This determines the individual design of the metal packaging.

Schuler is the commercial agent for TMC's bottle necker in Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and Africa. This gives interested parties in these regions a competent contact partner for the key machines and processes for beverage bottle production. "TMC is contributing its die and process expertise to the cooperation and we are contributing our experience in the construction of metal packaging presses as well as our global service offering," says Schuler Managing Director Johannes Linden, who heads the Systems Division.
