Curio research and development center opened
The Würth trading group has opened what it says is a EUR 75 million research and development center in Künzelsau (Hohenlohe district).
According to the company known for its screws and dowels, laboratories and workplaces for around 250 people will be available on an area of around 15,500 m². "The innovation center is a clear commitment to our roots and to Hohenlohe as a business location, an investment in growth and thus the future viability of the company," said Reinhold Würth, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Würth Group's Family Trusts, in a statement on Wednesday.
According to the Group, the aim of the new site is to "give space to creative ideas, shorten innovation cycles and bring new and further developments to market even faster and in a more customer-specific manner". Employees from product development, the production companies as well as scientists and students from technical universities are working together on this at the new site. They will also meet the company's customers there.
According to the Group, it has more than 84,000 employees. In 2021, it achieved a turnover of around 17.1 billion euros. The bottom line was a profit of 965 million euros.
