The start-up also plans to work on solutions relating to the digitalization of workshops. In addition to industrial workshop and factory automation solutions, '3D.aero' will also offer optical measuring device applications, digital inspection and image processing applications as well as an associated consulting service. The company operates as a modern start-up with flat hierarchies. It is based at the ZAL TechCenter in Hamburg Finkenwerder, one of the largest and most modern aerospace research centers in the world. The start-up hopes that the location will enable it to network closely with other aviation companies. The young team is primarily made up of employees from Pepperl+Fuchs and graduates from the Institute of Aircraft Production Technology at Hamburg University of Technology. Although '3D.aero' was originally founded as part of a specific project in the engine sector, it is intended to serve all areas of Lufthansa Technik and other companies in the aviation industry in the future.
