New Chairman of the GMA

Michael Weyrich took over the chairmanship of the VDI/VDE Society for Measurement and Automation Technology (GMA) from Atilla Bilgic on January 1.

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dr. h. c. Michael Weyrich is the new Chairman of the VDI/VDE Society for Measurement and Automation Technology

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dr. h. c. Michael Weyrich has been involved in the GMA on a voluntary basis for many years. In addition to his work on the GMA Board and his involvement in the Interdisciplinary Committee on Digital Transformation, he is also Chairman of the Technical Committee 'Testing Networked Systems for Industry 4.0' and thus a member of the Advisory Board of the 'Digital Transformation' department.

He succeeds Dr.-Ing. Atilla Bilgic, who was Chairman of the GMA from 2018 to 2021. In his new role, Weyrich wants to drive forward the topics of digitalization and AI and also promote networking between industry and science. The topic of securing young talent for the GMA is also on the agenda. The aim is to inspire young people, promote women and integrate experts of foreign origin.
