With the acquisition of the measurement technology company Zurich Instruments on July 1, 2021, Rohde & Schwarz is further expanding its Test & Measurement division. Zurich Instruments will be managed as a wholly owned subsidiary.

Rohde & Schwarz is already active in the field of quantum sensing. With the acquisition of Zurich instruments, the Group is now positioning itself with its measurement technology in the field of quantum computing. Zurich Instruments offers measurement systems for scientific and industrial research. The company was founded in 2008 as a spin-off of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH Zurich) and now employs more than 100 people at its headquarters in Zurich and in its offices in China, the USA, France, South Korea, Japan and Italy. In addition to quantum technology, Zurich Instruments has a strong network and experience in academic research in physics.
