The system works with a laser sensor system that, according to the manufacturer, delivers reliable results within a few seconds without any aids or reference components, even in harsh production environments. During a measurement, the robot arm guides the laser beam over the features to be detected. The height profile of the feature is saved by the controller and its position is calculated. A 6D correction is then calculated from the localized features and transmitted to the robot controller. Any correction of the robot program should take place immediately and automatically during the ongoing production process, so that position-related faults or collisions are avoided. Areas of application can be found in vehicle, machine and plant construction, in aviation and generally in the metalworking industry.
