At the same time, it should be more scalable and offer responsive phase sequences of distributed process skids, centrally coordinated at the production level. By integrating with Rockwell Automation's SequenceManager solution, sequencing is controlled at either the controller or server level. This enables machine builders to develop fully tested skids that end customers can integrate into their batch processes with minimal validation effort and short commissioning times. It should also reduce the amount of rework required when manufacturers with small, controller-based batch systems want to upgrade to larger server-based batch systems. The new web-based interface can help to create intuitive workflows, reduce process steps and improve collaboration. With mobile devices, employees no longer need to be directly connected to the control center and fixed terminals. They can access information in real time, interact with processes and obtain production approvals plant-wide. It should also reduce the number of clicks previously required to access information.
