The IT & Business trade fair opens its doors in Stuttgart from October 4 to 6. The topic of Industry 4.0 will be high on the agenda - with the expanded special show 'Smart Factory' and a new showcase.

As in the previous year, this year's IT & Business will once again extend across the L-Bank Forum in Hall 1 of the Stuttgart exhibition halls. The three main pillars of the trade fair for digital processes and solutions include the trade exhibition, special shows and forums. This year, the forum programme will take place under the name 'Open Conference' and will cover the topics 'Planning, Production & Personnel', 'Marketing, Sales & Services', 'Organization and Administration' and 'Market & Strategy'. Landesmesse Stuttgart, the trade fair organizer of IT & Business, is planning a 'Connect Area'. It is intended to provide a space for actively promoting communication: Exhibitors and visitors will have the opportunity to discuss solutions away from their workstations at the trade fair stands and will also have the opportunity for active networking.

Industry 4.0 showcases

This year, two showcases on Industry 4.0 will enrich the trade fair: for example, the 'Smart Factory' special show initiated by Elabo, which has been expanded compared to last year. Together with the companies ELO Digital Office, ITML and MCL Computer & Accessories, Elabo wants to demonstrate the networked process - from configuration and production through to purchasing and service. It is intended to illustrate the complete production process of customizable watches in one company.

A showcase from the Industry 4.0 Application Center at the University of Potsdam will be at the trade fair for the first time. Processes will be vividly and realistically depicted in a model factory. Visitors will be able to determine the best solution variant from the Industry 4.0 toolbox for their production processes and generate statements on the benefits of technologies such as RFID or Cyber Physical Systems in their own company.
