Meinrad Happacher,

The 'Automation 4.0 Summit'

Since 2015, the editorial teams of WEKA FACHMEDIEN have been organizing the summit accompanying the trade fair in the Convention Center East of the Nuremberg exhibition grounds. The 'Automation 4.0 Summit' addresses four topics in the Industry 4.0 environment.

The 'Automation 4.0 Summit' will take place parallel to SPS IPC Drives on November 22 and 23, 2016 at the exhibition grounds in Nuremberg.

On the first day of the trade fair, the summit will cover the topics of "Safety meets security" and "The possibilities of energy management in optimized production". The second day of the SPS IPC Drives trade fair will focus on the topics of "Big Data Analytics" and "Sensors for Industry 4.0".

The "Safety meets security" track will focus on the requirements for safety and security in the context of Industry 4.0 - including What can an integrated approach that has both disciplines 'on the radar' from the outset look like in concrete terms? What data needs to be protected and how? The parallel track "Optimized production - the possibilities of energy management" provides an insight into what energy management systems can do, what they can be used for and what financial return they bring. Above all, the speakers will also describe how these systems can be introduced into the production processes of smaller companies without great effort.

On the second day of the trade fair, the "Big Data Analytics" track will provide compact and well-founded answers to the following questions: How can the topic of big data analysis be approached? What steps are necessary? What are the things to look out for in the various solution approaches? The "Sensors for Industry 4.0" track, on the other hand, sheds light on the broad field of sensor technology - from modern sensor technologies and topics such as sensor signal processing, digitalization and data pre-processing in sensor nodes to the networking of sensors and the associated security aspects as well as data collection in the cloud.

So that day visitors to SPS IPC Drives can visit both the trade fair and the Summit, the Summit will not start until 10.30 am and will end at around 2.30 pm. This means that there are still five hours available for a visit to the trade fair. The thematic blocks will each take place in two parallel tracks.

The summit is aimed at specialists and managers from the manufacturing industry, technical management, sales and service of mechanical engineering companies as well as product management, sales and technical management of automation technology companies.

The 'Automation 4.0 Summit' is organized by Computer&AUTOMATION, Elektronik and smarterworld.de - the trade media of WEKA FACHMEDIEN.
