ctrlX Automation ecosystem

The real-time capable, Linux-based operating system ctrlX OS from Bosch Rexroth, which was previously used exclusively on the ctrlX Core controller, is now available as a separate solution for the industrial environment.

The OS is hardware-independent and, according to Bosch Rexroth, should seamlessly connect even more automation components with the entire ctrlX Automation portfolio, including the partner solutions of ctrlX World. Operation is also possible with a virtual controller on hypervisor platforms, in the data center, on edge servers or in the cloud. According to the automation specialist from Lohr am Main, this allows software-based functions to be developed, installed, updated and operated more flexibly across all levels of the automation topology.

The ctrlX Automation modular automation system is a consistently open overall system consisting of hardware and software as well as the ctrlX World partner network. The ecosystem works with app technology. Partners can make their apps available for download in the ctrlX Store. Around 50 apps from over 60 partner companies are currently available for download in the app store.
