Cloud yes - but private!

The VDMA's IT Report 2016 brings surprising results to light: the mechanical and plant engineering industry is focusing on new topics that have previously played a subordinate role - such as machine data acquisition. There are also interesting developments on the subject of the cloud.

Cloud technology is becoming increasingly important in mechanical and plant engineering.

A total of 100 companies from the mechanical and plant engineering sector took part in the 2016 IT Report survey. The result: Compared to the previous VDMA IT studies, some of the companies are setting new priorities with their current investment plans up to 2018. The picture gallery below shows which trend topics are now in focus and what role big data, clouds and apps are already playing:
