With the acquisition of ACS Motion Control, Physik Instrumente (PI) as a solution provider for drive technology and positioning systems can now increasingly address industrial applications with customized complete systems that can be integrated into different automation environments. One example of this is air-bearing multi-axis linear stages moved by magnetic direct drives, which are suitable for precise material processing, inspection systems, assembly applications or digital printing.

PI states that ACS will remain independent within the PI Group after the acquisition - the management will not change and existing customers will continue to be supplied. Founded in 1985, ACS Motion Control develops, manufactures and distributes controller and amplifier solutions for multi-axis drive systems based on EtherCat. ACS is headquartered in Migdal Ha'Emek, Israel. The company also has sales and support centers in the USA, Germany, China and South Korea.

The Karlsruhe-based company Physik Instrumente (PI) specializes in precise positioning technology. PI has been developing and manufacturing standard and OEM products with piezo or motor drives for over 40 years. With four locations in Germany and fifteen foreign sales and service branches, the PI Group is represented internationally.
