New president elected

Dr. Gunther Kegel, CEO of Pepperl+Fuchs, will become the new VDE President on January 1, 2017. He will succeed Dr. Bruno Jacobfeuerborn in the rotation. There will also be other changes at the top of the VDE.

The members of the Executive Committee of the VDE (German Electrical, Electronic & Information Technologies Association) traditionally come from industry and science and should cover the entire spectrum of electrical engineering and information technology. The members of the Executive Committee are elected by the association's delegates. They have now voted for the following changes at the top of the association as of January 1, 2017:

With 36,000 members (including 1,300 companies) and 1,200 employees, the VDE is one of the largest technical and scientific associations in Europe. It is particularly committed to promoting research and young talent as well as consumer protection. Its headquarters are in Frankfurt am Main.
