Keba achieves record sales

On its 50th anniversary, the Linz-based automation specialist Keba achieved the highest turnover in its history at EUR 254 million. Looking at the past five years, the average annual growth is 11%.

In the past financial year - from April 2017 to March 2018 - the Keba Group achieved a year-on-year increase in turnover of around EUR 61 million. This corresponds to sales growth of 31.5%. Keba sells around 30,000 control systems to machine and robot manufacturers every year. Since 2000, the company has delivered around 6500 logistics machines. The transfer solutions of the German subsidiary Kemas are also very successful with 4000 systems at 600 customers, according to Keba. In the field of electromobility, Keba has certified its wallboxes in 45 countries and sold over 34,000 charging stations in the last financial year. For the third time in a row, Keba was able to double its turnover and number of units.

The company attaches great importance to research and development - "We invest between 15 and 20% of our turnover in R&D every year," says CEO Gerhard Luftensteiner. In the past financial year, investment in R&D increased from 38 million euros to 42 million euros.

Keba currently employs around 1130 people worldwide, including up to 800 at its headquarters in Linz, Austria. The automation specialist has branches in a total of eleven countries: Germany, the Netherlands, Romania, Turkey, Italy, the Czech Republic, the USA, China, South Korea, Taiwan and Japan. The export ratio remained high at 87% in the 2017/2018 financial year: 61% went to the EU and 16% to Asia.
