The VDMA has published its first estimates of global machine sales. According to these estimates, sales of machinery and equipment in Europe rose by 6%. This was the highest growth since 2011. The figures in detail.

"Investment in industry finally picked up in 2017, particularly in the EU countries. The economy in the European market has noticeably gained momentum over the course of the past year, and the upturn in mechanical engineering is likely to continue in 2018," says VDMA Chief Economist Dr. Ralph Wiechers, assessing the development.
