The VDMA has published its first estimates of global machine sales. According to these estimates, sales of machinery and equipment in Europe rose by 6%. This was the highest growth since 2011. The figures in detail.

In 2017, Germany maintained the position it has held since 2013 as the world's third-largest producer of machinery. The sales volume for 2017 is estimated at 274 billion euros (up 5% on the previous year).
