Siemens - 1st quarter 2018'Digital Factory' and 'Mobility' stand out
Siemens has announced its figures for the first quarter: the company is growing in terms of both order intake and sales - thanks to strong contributions from the Mobility and Digital Factory Divisions. In contrast, the result of the Industrial Business declined.
In the Power and Gas Division, there was a significant decrease in revenue in the first quarter of fiscal year 2018, particularly in the solutions business. In the same quarter of the previous year, this business had generated higher revenue from major orders in Egypt. Order intake was also down due to the low volume of major orders in declining markets. (The figures for incoming orders and revenue are stated on a comparable basis - i.e. excluding currency translation and portfolio effects).
