Dirk Didascalou becomes new CTO

On September 1, Dr. Dirk Didascalou will become the new Chief Technology Officer of Siemens Digital Industries. He is moving from Amazon Web Services in Seattle.

Dr. Dirk Didascalou, currently Vice President IoT at Amazon Web Services in Seattle, USA, will join Siemens Digital Industries as the new Chief Technology Officer on September 1, 2021. He will lead the overarching technology and architecture strategy of Digital Industries and report directly to CEO Cedrik Neike. His responsibilities include strategic partnerships within the industry as well as joint initiatives with customers, e.g. in the automotive industry. Beyond Siemens Digital Industries, Didascalou will also take a leading role in the company-wide IoT board and drive digital transformation across all Siemens businesses.

Prior to joining AWS, Didascalou was Corporate Vice President Technology at Microsoft. He joined Microsoft following the acquisition of Nokia's mobile division, where he held various management positions in Copenhagen and Beijing and was most recently Senior Vice President R&D for the global technology division.
