"Maisart" is the abbreviation for "Mitsubishi Electric's AI creates the State-of-the-ART in technology". The company expects the new brand to raise awareness of its artificial intelligence initiatives, boost its business and increase the versatility of AI use in its various business fields, including information processing.

According to Mitsubishi, the global market for AI was worth an estimated 29 billion euros in 2015. According to Ernst & Young, annual growth in this area is expected to average 30%. Mitsubishi Electric's original AI technologies focus on compact deep learning algorithms and significant expertise in efficient reinforcement learning and powerful big data time series analysis.
