Harting
The Mica network
Harting founded the MICA.network user community in June. Two months earlier, the Mica mini industrial PC received the Hermes Award at the Hannover Messe. Now the community's partner companies are presenting their first applications.
With Akquinet, Nemetris, Salt and Pepper and SDI Project Automation, four companies from the network are now presenting their Mica solutions. Akquinet will be presenting Industry 4.0 solutions based on open source technologies. Using an example, Akquinet will demonstrate how information is exchanged between sensors, servers and mobile devices. On the other hand, Akquinet will demonstrate the implementation of Industry 4.0 in the areas of PPS and MES using methods such as machine learning and data analytics. By combining the smart industry apps from Nemetris and Mica, standard MES and production IT functions can be executed directly on the store floor. The apps collect, process and visualize operating, machine, process and maintenance data, for example. Salt and Pepper's condition monitoring system offers options for monitoring existing systems. As a retrofit solution, this system is integrated into existing systems and enables an assessment of the availability and performance factor for the consideration of overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
Harting will be demonstrating two applications with Mica. In cooperation with IBM, a concept for intelligent energy management will be presented. Energy measurement data is collected locally at the trade fair and from a remote production facility and then analyzed in the IBM cloud by IBM's cognitive intelligence Watson. The results are visualized live on a tablet at the trade fair. Solutions from the fields of energy management, LoRaWAN, soft PLC and object recognition using RFID will also be on display.
