Swissbit

Inka Krischke,

Tailor-made for data centers

With the 'N4200', Swissbit presented its first SSD last November, which was specially developed for the requirements and application profiles of data centers. The manufacturer is now expanding the product series to include a variant with 16 Tbyte storage capacity.

Visually recognizable by its black metal housing, this version also offers the same features as its sister model with 8 Tbyte: a two to five times higher constant write speed with consistently low latency and endurance over the entire service life. The firmware of the SSD from Swissbit can be adapted to specific data center application profiles. This allows flash management to be specifically optimized and the relationship between performance and endurance to be adapted to the actual workload of the customer application. The U.3 SSD in 2.5-inch format is based on enterprise grade 3D TLC NAND (eTLC), is backwards compatible with U.2 and has a 4-lane PCIe interface in accordance with the PCIe 4.0 specification for a bandwidth of up to 8,000 Mbit/s in both directions.
