Over 2,000 students submitted their microchip ideas to the 'Invent a Chip 2017' competition on the topic of 'New Mobility'. The VDE and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) have now honored the four most original ideas in Munich.

The students have developed an innovative ambulance stretcher for fast and gentle transportation in an ambulance. "We are presenting an ambulance model with a movable stretcher that prevents the patient from slipping during the journey. When the ambulance accelerates or brakes, on slopes and in bends, the stretcher is tilted in such a way that no horizontal acceleration acts on the patient," is how the team describes its concept.</p> © VDE
