Kontron is also launching a new COM Express Type 7 Evaluation Carrier. The COMe-bID7 with a scalability of 4 to 10 cores on a small form factor and SKUs for the industrial temperature range of -40 to +85 °C enables robust and space-saving implementations in harsh environments and under extreme conditions. The module has up to 4x SO-DIMM sockets for a maximum of 128 Gbytes of memory. A soldered NVMe SSD onboard with up to 1 Tbyte storage capacity is optionally available as a storage medium. 16x PCIe Gen4 plus 16x PCIe Gen3 lanes and 4x 10GBASE-KR interfaces support high data throughput rates in demanding I/O and network structures. Supplemented by real-time capabilities such as low latency and determinism with Intel Time Coordinated Computing (TCC) and Time Sensitive Networking (TSN), the platform is suitable for use in high-performance IoT edge computing, for example.
