IoT solutions for industrial PLC applications
Kontron has expanded the SL i.MX6 UL system-on-module to include the manufacturer-independent IEC 61131-3 automation software Codesys for configuring industrial control systems.
Complex control tasks can be easily implemented via the hardware-independent development interface. According to Kontron, the system-on-module in a compact form factor of just 25 mm x 25 mm creates the basis for individual board and system developments as a fully-fledged industrial computer. It combines the NXP i.MX6 UltraLight microprocessor, 1x Arm Cortex-A7 @528 MHz, the flash and RAM as well as the power supply on one circuit board. The programming tool is predestined for application developments in the field of industrial automation. With the Codesys license, the wide range of PLC functions can be used on the Linux platform, including tested fieldbus protocols. The SoM with Codesys SoftPLC is particularly suitable for the special challenges of customer-specific applications.
