Edge computer for rail vehicle applications
With the TRACe-B104-TR/IV, Kontron is launching a compact, fanless edge computer for use in rail vehicle applications.
The 5G-ready edge computer utilizes the power and graphics capabilities of the Intel Atom x6425E system-on-chip 10nm architecture, combined with an EN50155-certified box computer design that supports multiple operating systems such as Linux and Windows 10/Windows 10 IoT, as well as multiple I/O and storage options such as 5G/LTE, Wi-Fi, SSD, GPS via M.2 and mPCIe sockets.
Equipped with 'Kontron SEC-Line' firmware and cellular and/or Wi-Fi modems, the system becomes a secure edge server/router gateway offering hardware root of trust, cybersecurity protection, virtualization and fleet management tools. It complies with ITxPT specifications and has numerous I/Os as standard, for example 3x Gigabit Ethernet ports, two of which are PSE, 2x USB3.0/2.0 + 1x M12 USB2.0, 8x isolated digital I/Os, 2x isolated RS232/422/485 as well as audio and display ports.
