Conference program of embedded world is fixed
embedded world is developing excellently. The prospects for the embedded world Conference and the electronic displays Conference are just as excellent - as the program shows.
The motto of this year's embedded world conference is: Embedded Goes Autonomous. The conference is thus focusing on one of the key issues facing the industry. The performance of processors has increased so much that new technologies such as machine learning and artificial intelligence are about to be applied. This will enable completely new systems that independently perceive their environment, draw conclusions and make decisions. The embedded world conference reflects this trend with the motto "Embedded Goes Autonomous". In addition to a separate conference focus on this topic, "embedded vision" - computer-aided image processing - is also very closely linked to autonomy applications: Just think of autonomous driving or diagnostic imaging in medicine.
In total, the 2018 program is divided into seven conference clusters. The individual clusters are made up of sessions and classes. Sessions last one morning or afternoon and usually consist of half-hour presentations. Classes are limited to smaller groups and have the character of a training course: here, participants can focus intensively on a topic, often even with practical exercises on computers or microprocessor boards.
The entire lecture program of the embedded world Conference with contributions from international experts in 36 sessions and 13 classes, with the lecture abstracts and information on the speakers, can now be viewed online at www.embedded-world.eu. There, interested parties can register directly online for the conference.
The highlights of the day are always the two keynote speeches on the first and second day of the conference. Two renowned industry experts have been secured for this purpose: Mark Papermaster, CTO of AMD and Andrea Martin, IBM DACH CTO & IBM Global Markets Technical Executive.
On the first day, February 27, 2018, Mark Papermaster will speak about "Evolving embedded systems in a self-directed world". He will show which technologies will soon enable truly intelligent systems. This will change the way embedded systems are developed and set up. The right choice of processor architecture and programming models will be key to generating successful solutions for intelligent systems.
Andrea Martin will give the keynote "Industry Solutions with the Internet of Things" on the second day of the conference. She will explain how the Internet of Things is changing IT and industrial landscapes and illustrate this with application examples. Edge computing, the cloud and popular APIs work together in such solutions. From her insights into IBM's Watson IoT Center, she will reveal what developments can be expected in the near future.
The topic of displays will not be neglected in 2018 either. "The electronic displays conference is THE knowledge tank for international experts. It is the most important European B2B platform for display technologies and one of the central dialog and industry platforms. This is where information is exchanged at a high professional level, innovations are presented and new projects are launched. Even after more than 30 years, the conference continues to develop dynamically at a high level. We are very pleased about this outstanding development. Once again this year, we have received many excellent submissions of top-class presentations - this shows the strong commitment of the display industry to our conference," says Prof. Dr. Karlheinz Blankenbach, Pforzheim University and Chairman of the Conference Advisory Board. On February 28 and March 1, 2018, developers, scientists and users of electronic displays will once again come together to exchange information on current display technologies such as LCD, OLED or ePaper, flexible displays, 3D displays, graphical user interfaces, touchscreens, the wide range of applications for these displays and the development of the market.
Highlights in 2018 include keynotes on display trends and OLEDs, 3 sessions on automotive displays and other top-class sessions on touch, measurement technology, AR/VR as well as applications and optimization. The proven author interviews after each session offer an excellent opportunity to discuss what has been heard in a small group. Displays are not only a prominent topic at the conference, but also at the trade fair. The electronic displays area in Halls 1 and 3A offers a platform for the latest technology relating to LCDs, OLEDs, ePaper, touch, interfaces and much more.
