Weidmüller acquires majority stake in GTI
The Weidmüller Group has acquired the majority of shares in GTI-Control mbH and GTI-Process AG. In future, both companies will operate under the name 'Weidmüller GTI Software GmbH'.
"With the acquisition of the shares, we are strengthening Weidmüller's automation and solutions portfolio with GTI's market-leading product portfolio in terms of functionality and design in the field of human-machine interfaces," said Jörg Timmermann, CFO and Spokesman of the Executive Board of the Weidmüller Group on the occasion of the conclusion of the contract on June 15, 2018.
GTI was founded in 1987 as Gesellschaft für technische Informationsverarbeitung mbH. From its headquarters in Marktheidenfeld, around 30 employees develop and distribute software-based visualization solutions for mechanical and plant engineering. These so-called Human Machine Interface (HMI) systems are marketed under the brand names 'Procon-Win' and 'Procon-Web'.
