umati@automatica special show presents networked machines
umati enables networked machines to communicate with each other across manufacturers. The special show "Connected Machines - umati@automatica" shows how this works.
As part of the special show "Connected Machines - umati@automatica" organized by the VDMA Robotics + Automation Association, visitors to automatica from 27 to 30 June in Munich can see how cross-manufacturer communication between networked machines can succeed. "By scanning a QR code attached to the exhibits - image processing systems, robots and screwdriving systems - visitors will have immediate access to the machine data with their smartphone. The result: more data, increased efficiency and optimized processes," explains Bernd Heitzmann, Head of VDMA Integrated Assembly Solutions.
Suprateek Banerjee, Director Standards Development at the VDMA Robotics + Automation Association, adds: "umati implements - among many others - the OPC UA Companion Specifications for Machine Vision, Robotics and Tightening Systems, the result of a joint standardization initiative of the VDMA Robotics + Automation Association and its member companies."
The central dashboard of the special show is located at the VDMA stand in Hall B5, Stand 218. The partners of the special show are ABB, asentics Vario, asentics vision technology, Beckhoff, DEPRAG, Fanuc, Keba, Kuka, MVTec Software, Siemens, Spin Robotics, VDMA Robotics + Automation, Weber and Yaskawa.
