31 representatives from science and industry advise the Federal Ministry of Education and Research and the Industry 4.0 platform as the Industry 4.0 Research Advisory Board. The topics of sustainability, resilience, interoperability, technological sovereignty and the central role of humans are increasingly coming into focus. The Advisory Board, which is coordinated by Acatech, now welcomes Marc Hüske from VDMA as its newest member.

Hüske has headed the VDMA's Manufacturing-X forum since 2024 and is responsible for the transfer of project results as a sub-project manager in Factory-X. Prior to this, Marc Hüske worked for more than 20 years in various management positions in laser mechanical engineering with a focus on the initialization and implementation of new technologies. During this time, he was a member of the board of the VDMA Photovoltaic Production Equipment Division.

Marc Hüske studied electrical engineering with a focus on microelectronics at the University of Hanover and completed his doctorate at the Institute of Materials Science in the field of laser measurement technology as part of research work on plasma fusion cutting.

Dietmar Goericke (VDMA), Jürgen Gausemeier (Heinz Nixdorf Institute, University of Paderborn) and Michael ten Hompel (Fraunhofer IML, TU Dortmund) have left the Research Advisory Board.
