After more than 23 years at Kuka, Heinrich Munz is leaving the company on September 1, 2019 at his own request to take "active" retirement. The 60-year-old from Ravensburg has a long history in automation technology behind him: in 1985, he co-founded LP Elektronik GmbH, 51% of which went to Kuka in 1996 and then completely in 2003. Munz subsequently held future-oriented positions at Kuka until the end, most recently as Lead Architect Industry 4.0. He was involved in many committees. These included the Industry 4.0 platform, the VDMA, DIN, the OPC Foundation, PLCopen and the Edge Computing Consortium Europe.

However, Heinrich Munz does not want to let go of automation completely: He will remain involved in the industry under the newly founded company Munz Consulting.
