National Instruments offers CompactRIO controllers with NI-DAQmx and Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN). They enable deterministic data transfers and synchronized measurements over standard Ethernet networks and thus increase the performance, productivity and flexibility of systems. The company is thus further expanding its portfolio of TSN-capable products. With the help of TSN, distributed systems can be deterministically synchronized over a standard Ethernet network without the need for expensive synchronization lines. Other important functions and features of the new CompactRIO controllers: The intuitive NI-DAQmx driver software is designed to enable faster commissioning than previous controllers and also direct access to I/Os. According to the manufacturer, NI Linux Real-Time offers open and secure data processing on IIoT edge nodes. The devices are designed for reliable operation in harsh environments thanks to the operating temperature range between -40 and +70 °C, shock resistance up to 50 g and vibration resistance up to 5 g.
