groov EPIC is a programmable edge industrial controller for the Industrial IoT (IIot) from Opto22. The device combines intelligent I/Os, an integrated Linux real-time controller, gateway functions and a display with open software interfaces. Automation engineers can thus connect existing systems, control processes, automate machines, connect to web services, create mesh networks, collect, publish and visualize data where it is needed - for example locally, decentrally and in the cloud. The high-resolution integrated touch display is used for configuration, commissioning and testing. The Edge Industrial Controller enables the creation and display of HMIs, trends and events for any mobile device or web browser. The results can also be displayed locally on the integrated touchscreen. An external display can be connected via the integrated HDMI interface. Another feature is the Node-RED-Flow-based development environment and runtime for edge data processing and communication. Thanks to 'Ignition Edge' from Inductive Automation with drivers for Allen-Bradley, Siemens and others, common PLCs can be integrated. The MQTT/Sparkplug protocol enables efficient industrial publish/subscribe communication.
