Infineon Technologies presents the world's first Trusted Platform Module (TPM) specifically for industrial applications. The Optiga TPM SLM 9670 protects the device identity and integrity of industrial PCs, servers, industrial controllers and edge gateways. It controls access to sensitive data in the networked and automated factory and at the interface to the cloud. The TPM acts as a vault for sensitive data in networked devices and reduces the risk of data loss and production downtime due to cyber attacks. By using audited and certified TPMs, manufacturers of industrial devices can achieve higher security levels in accordance with IEC 62443 and speed up their certification processes. In addition, remote maintenance using secure software updates can reduce the costs of maintaining the devices. The module complies with the TPM 2.0 standard of the Trusted Computing Group and is certified by an independent test laboratory according to Common Criteria. With a service life of 20 years and the ability to update the firmware on the chip, the TPM can withstand long-term security risks. It offers an extended temperature range of -40 to +105 °C and complies with the industry standard JEDEC JESD47) in terms of robustness and quality. The Optiga TPM SLM 9670 is manufactured in Infineon's security-certified production facility and will be available in volume from the second half of 2019.
