With the SCR series, Insys is launching icom routers with a flexibly mountable housing onto the market. The iIoT gateways are available in LTE and LAN versions, both also as a variant with digital I/Os. IP-based and serial devices can be connected locally. As part of a retrofit, this multifunctional device can also be used to transfer existing systems into modern, industrial IoT environments. The compact housing and the two mounting directions make the IoT gateway suitable for control cabinets in industrial environments and for building distribution boards. The series has the 'icom OS' operating system and the 'icom SmartBox' Linux environment. In this virtual environment, scripts and programs can be executed on the router in so-called containers (LXC) - even independently of each other - and data can be stored and processed. In addition to secure remote maintenance, the device can also be used as a solution for edge computing applications such as condition monitoring or data analytics. Among other things, the status and values of connected devices can be monitored independently of the protocol and various cloud services can be connected for applications such as reporting or benchmarking. IT security is ensured by a stateful firewall and VPN functionality, among other things.
