Stereo camera for demanding 3D applications

With its 12 MPixel sensors, the 3D camera 'BVS 3D-RV1' from Matrix Vision achieves a detection accuracy that is particularly necessary for handling small and complex parts in a larger field of view.

The camera is suitable, for example, for the 'handle-in-the-box' in industrial automation and logistics. An integrated pattern projector optimizes the capture of difficult parts or scenes with low visual texture. The supplied software library ensures compatibility with the GigE Vision and GenICam standards and therefore flexible connection to your own applications and third-party 3D software.

Matrix Vision 's stereo camera is equipped with 12 MPixel global shutter CMOS sensors specifically for the detection and handling of small parts, even in large detection areas with recommended working distances of up to 4 meters. Correspondingly detailed point clouds as well as depth, confidence and defect images provide the basis for complex automation tasks. The image data for depth image calculation is transmitted in parallel via two GigE interfaces, enabling repetition rates of up to 9 Hz to be achieved depending on the resolution and GPU computing power. The camera works according to the GigE Vision standard and offers a GenICam-compatible software interface. This provides a high degree of flexibility for the user, who can create their own applications using the SGM Producer library supplied as well as compatible software from third-party providers such as Halcon or OpenCV.

With its robust IP54 design and passive cooling, the camera is optimized for industrial environmental conditions. If the objects to be captured or the working environment have little or no texture, the integrated pattern projector increases the information density and improves stereo matching.
