PCI Express interface for embedded vision
Matrix Vision has equipped the mvBlueNAOS camera modules with the cross-platform PCI Express interface, which is used in all PC systems and embedded processor platforms. This means that the camera modules can be used across all platforms.
GenICam-compatible software support ensures compatibility with existing image processing programs and therefore also platform independence. The first models with Pregius and Pregius-S sensors from Sony offer resolutions from 1.6 MP to 24.6 MP. The PCIe x4 interface allows transfer rates of up to 1.6 Gbit/s and thus offers sufficient space for higher bit depths, simultaneous image pre-processing and future sensors with higher frame rates. According to Matrix Vision, an almost latency-free transfer of image data directly into the memory is guaranteed without overhead and without detours via additional interfaces (DMA - Direct Memory Access).
