Evotron is launching ring light illuminators with up to eight separately controllable LED segments that are controlled by a single-channel lighting controller.

The development was made possible by Evotron's FPGA-based 'Lumisens' technology. The digital LED single-channel lighting controller 'DCC2404' takes control of the triggering of the camera and the synchronous control of the respective LED segments of the ring lighting. With the free selection of up to 16 consecutive segment combinations, 3D lighting techniques such as shape from shading and photometric stereo can be realized. To integrate the ring lighting into machine control systems, the operating parameters can be set via WLAN using a web interface, app or API. Switching between the LED segments of the lighting is fast; even at switching speeds of 10,000 Hz, the light energy remains constant from segment to segment and synchronized with the trigger of the camera.
