Young Professional Award 2024 announced

The EMVA Young Professional Award is an annual prize worth 1500 euros that recognizes the outstanding and innovative work of a student or young professional in the field of machine vision or image processing.

The winner of the award will be announced at the EMVA Business Conference 2025, which will take place in Rome from May 22-24, and will have the opportunity to present the winning work to the leading representatives of the machine vision industry from Europe and abroad. They will also receive a free conference pass to the EMVA Business Conference, all travel costs to Rome covered and a free pass to the European Machine Vision Forum 2025.

The aim of the prize is to encourage students and young scientists to tackle challenges in the field of machine vision and to apply the latest research results and findings in the field of machine vision to the practical needs of industry.

The criteria for the work to be honored with the EMVA Young Professional Award are:

  • Outstanding or innovative work in the field of machine vision technology. Industrial relevance and cooperation with a company during the work is required. The target industry is freely selectable.
  • The work (master's or doctoral thesis or equivalent research work) must have been carried out within the last 18 months at a European institution or in collaboration with one.

In the meantime, the student may have entered professional life.
The EMVA Board of Directors selects the winner of the prize from the work submitted by March 30.
