Smart Automation Austria canceled
The trade fair organizer Reed Exhibitions has cancelled Smart Automation Austria in Vienna. There will be no alternative date.
Smart Automation Austria in Vienna has now also been canceled due to the coronavirus. The organizer Reed Exhibitions published a statement on the trade fair's website:
"The current situation surrounding the spread of the coronavirus (Covid-19) is having a direct impact on the staging of major events. Many companies are faced with strict travel or participation restrictions, visitors are unsettled and avoid large crowds. Against this backdrop, a large number of renowned international trade fair formats have canceled or postponed their dates in recent days. Countries such as Switzerland and France have even banned large events with more than 1,000 and 5,000 people respectively. In Austria, there is still no such regulation from public authorities (note: status as of March 5), and we have only received a risk assessment recommendation from the Ministry of Health.
Together with the advisory board, we have therefore decided not to hold this year's edition of Vienna Smart Automation from May 12 to 14 as planned. An alternative date will not be chosen, as Smart is already scheduled to take place in Linz in spring 2021. Together with the Intertool Advisory Board, we have agreed today that instead of the Intertool (May 12 to 15, 2020), which is planned to take place in parallel, there will be an industry event in autumn 2020 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Intertool."
