Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Brigitte Zypries honored innovative ideas from the field of information and communication technology at the 'Digital Innovations Start-up Competition' at Cebit 2017. Computer&AUTOMATION shows the developments of the 20 start-ups in a picture gallery.

Another main prize and the special 'Big Data' prize worth 10,000 euros went to the start-up Compredict. The software they have developed uses the sensors already in the vehicle to collect information on the load on the vehicle parts during the journey - in real time. The software uses this information to create a usage profile and calculates the remaining service life of the stressed vehicle components. Car manufacturers and suppliers can thus recognize how vehicle components are actually stressed in practice and, if necessary, increase reliability by reinforcing the design of the respective components if they are undersized.
