A single converter thus covers all international on-board power supply voltages for rail vehicles (24 V, 36 V, 72 V, 96 V and 110 V) including the tolerance range of ±40 % required by EN 50155 in a single device. The DC/DC converter can also be used for 12 V applications (e.g. in buses) to drive applications such as switches, repeaters, displays and other infotainment.

According to Autronic, EN 50155 regarding temperature, shock and vibration as well as the railway-specific criteria for EMC in accordance with EN50121-3-2 as well as surge, burst and ESD are fully complied with without any additional components. The converter also has an integrated power failure bypass of 10 ms (Class OT4/ST1 and 2). The pinning was selected according to the common ¼ brick. The efficiency is up to 84 %, cooling - apart from natural convection - is not necessary.
